A visit with elders of the McGeshick family, a politically significant extended family in the Lac Vieux Desert Tribe of Lake Superior Ojibwe, in the far western region of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. They describe growing up in their remote Old Village, deep in the Ottawa National Forest. Their stories contrast their childhood experiences with those of their children and grandchildren.
