Living My Own Life: Adults with Disabilities

(2000) 28 minutes.

People with disabilities have the same vision of adult life as everyone else does – a chance to live as independently as possible in their own home, to control who comes in through the door, to work at a real job and to be surrounded by friends. Person-centered planning and new technology are making this easier to do.
this video highlights the lives of Don, Robert, Becky, Rayford, Debbie and Gail, six persons with disabilities who each have succeeded in their own way in living fulfilling lives through advocacy, support and – most of all – careful planning.

This film can be purchased from Northern Michigan University for $31.80. This includes tax and shipping.
